Purpose |
The main focus of the Bloodmobile Volunteer Assistant is to assist in all duties in the reception area and refreshment area at bloodmobile sites. |
Key Responsibilities |
- Willingness to support Red Cross Mission.
- Greet and help to register blood donors.
- Serve refreshments and monitor blood donors in refreshment area.
- Be familiar with and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.

Qualifications |
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to work with staff, volunteers and blood donors as part of a team .
- Ability to give verbal instructions clearly.
- Accept and carry out directions.
- Ability to provide own transportation to different bloodmobile sites.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to write legibly.

- Orientation to American Red Cross
- Completion of blood services volunteer assignments training, volunteer staffing matrix guidelines.

Time Commitment |
Approximately 6 hours per bloodmobile, plus 15 minutes prior to the start of the drive, and travel time to the site.
Recommended minimum 2 assignments per month
