Disaster Health Services

Purpose

To provide health-related services and secure resources to meet the health needs of people affected by disaster and of the staff providing disaster relief.

Key Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Provide support to person who have disaster aggravated health needs as a Disaster Action Team member or On-Call Health Services Consultant.
  • Assist client to find resources to meet health –related financial obligations
  • Provide health-related services to Red Cross staff assigned to disaster relief operation.
  • Teaching and developing courses: HIV/AIDS, CPR, First Aid, AED, Nurse Assistant Training, Disaster Health Services and Babysitting.
  • Provide direct services: On-call responder, Disaster Action Team (DAT), health fairs, mitigation projects.

Qualifications

  • Current license or certificate for the following professions: Physician, Registered Nurse, License Practical or Vocational Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic, Physician Assistant, Student Nurse
