Position Title

Staff Aide

Purpose

Work closely with Emergency Services staff by answering phones, filing, data entry, updating volunteer records, and other administrative activities.  This position is very detailed oriented.  This role will allow the Emergency Services staff to more effectively perform their function, ultimately in disaster relief.

Key Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Update disaster job history
  • Volunteer staff record filing
  • Call ES volunteer staff to check on DSHR and local response availability
  • Prepare mailings

Reports to Volunteer Resources Coordinator

Qualifications

  • Effective communication skill, both written and verbal
  • PC skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to relate well with clients and professional volunteers alike
  • Ability to work independently

  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • On job training
  • Introduction to Disaster Services
