Position Title

Special Events Representative

Purpose

To provide literature at health fairs, parades, and other community events.  Special Events volunteers may also canteen with the Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV), providing beverages and snacks to local events.  This position provides needed services and smiles to the events of the Philadelphia region and provides the opportunity to meet Philadelphia neighbors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Talk with people about the services that the American Red Cross offers while in the public eye.

Relationships

Reports to Volunteer Resource Coordinator

Qualifications

  • Ability to talk with people about Red Cross Emergency Services
  • General understanding of Red Cross Programs

Training

  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • On job training
  • Introduction to Disaster Services (self study)
  • Desirable, though not required, to take Emergency Response Vehicle Training (ERV – ready, set, roll) and feel comfortable canteening from the ERV.
