Position Title

Financial Development Intern

Purpose

Program Funding Coordinator seeks an intern for a variety of grant-related administrative functions.  The intern will not only gain experience and insight into the fundraising world by providing these functions, but will also enable the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter to secure additional funding to provide its life-saving services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Prepare and file grant proposals and reports (in hard copy and in People Soft)
  • Data Entry (migrating historical foundation documents from Raiser’s Edge to People Soft).
  • Prospect research
  • Writing donor acknowledgements
  • Creating a template for major donor report
  • Create final version of grant proposals, sending them, filing them electronically and in hard copy
  • Data entry – migrate historical foundation records from Raiser’s Edge to PeopleSoft
  • Research foundation prospects, contact for application guidelines
  • Write-edit donor acknowledgements
  • Create major donor reports
  • Additional administrative, writing, editing tasks as needed

Relationships

Reports to Program Funding Coordinator

Qualifications

  • Strong organization and writing skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • PeopleSoft and Raiser’s Edge a plus (otherwise will be trained to use)

Training

  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • On job training
