Position Title

Volunteer Service Instructor

Purpose

The Health and Safety Volunteer Service Instructor implements programs at community locations as scheduled and contracted by the Health and Safety Service Department.  The Volunteer Service Instructor provides instruction in how to prevent, prepare for, and respond to life’s emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Conduct training programs and presentations as assigned and authorized throughout our chapter area
  • Support departmental goals
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures in training and program administration and quality program offering, as written in instructor guides and instructor handbook
  • Provide programs in flexible manner, while meeting National ARC guidelines
  • Backup coworkers as needed
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Reports to Health and Safety Training Administrator

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of instructor training course in prescribed specialty
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to manage conflicts and stressful situations in a positive customer service manner

  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • On job training
