
International Tracing Specialist

PURPOSE
In the midst of war, civil unrest, or in the midst of disaster in another country, when people have been unable to locate close family members who are citizens of another country through normal communication channels, the American Red Cross may be able to help find them through our Tracing and Red Cross Messaging services. In addition, the American Red Cross and Red Cross societies worldwide conduct searches to help reunite family members separated during world war two and the Holocaust.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Internet Searches
- Help maintain a data bank of confidential cases
- Dialogue with clients
- Coordinate and conduct home visits as needed in the delivering of sensitive Red Cross Messages and Tracing information to clients
- Opportunity is available for community outreach
- Make presentations to internal and external audiences regarding Red Crossservices (optional)
- Operate tables at local fairs.
QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIAL SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have skill proficiency in the following areas:
- Comfortable on the computer including Internet searches
- Ability to listen to clients while recording sensitive information
- Ability to write letters to clients and business correspondence
