Purpose |
American Red Cross Lifeline is a 24-hour personalized home monitoring service that provides emergency assistance to people in need. The In Touch Volunteer is responsible for taking calls requesting emergency assistance. |
Key Responsibilities |
- Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
- Follow instruction and helpful hints sheets consistently and proactively
- Maintain and update follow-up sheet after each call
- Contact subscribers by phone in a organized and professional manner
- Backup coworkers as needed
- Be familiar with and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications |
- Tact, maturity, and good judgment in order to deal with the public
- Ability to think quickly and clearly and to adapt to unusual situations
- Good verbal and listening skills
- Patience
- Sensitivity to the issue of older adults and people with health problems and disabilities
- Honesty and Integrity
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of organization
