Position Title

Volunteer Mascot (Fred Cross)

Purpose

Supports the PR department as mascot, appearing at public events and presenting a positive image of the Red Cross with the general public especially children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Interact with the public at wide range of internal and external events, such as health fairs, sporting events, fundraisers, youth programs.

Relationships

Reports to Public Relations Manager

Qualifications

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Basic ability to communicate required
  • Current driver’s license
  • Criminal and child background checks must be completed and volunteer cleared before allowed to perform as character
  • Own transportation required
  • Should be between a height of 5’2” and 6’2” (for costume)
  • Comfortable working in a confined space for long periods of time

  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • On job training
