Special Events Volunteer

Purpose

The duties of the Special Volunteer are to assist the Financial Development Department with Special Events in the important area of fund raising.  This includes maintaining records of prospects and communicating with many of the areas CEO’s and key decision makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Assist in the development of corporate, individual and foundation solicitations and marketing materials
  • Develop and manage prospect grids
  • Interact with board members, Committee members and volunteers
  • Help prepare for exciting special event fundraisers including golf tournaments, black tie galas, and silent and live auctions
  • Maintain prospect information for Annual Campaign and Special Events
  • Assist with administrative needs and special projects for the department
  • Database management
  • Backup coworkers as needed
  • Be familiar with ad adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Relationships

Reports to Walk Coordinator

Qualifications

  • Ability to do research
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access
  • ADOBE PageMaker (or similar graphics packages) experience is very helpful
  • Excellent verbal and written skills are required
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence

Training

  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • On job training
