Purpose |
Provide emotional and spiritual support for people who have been affected by a personal or community trauma disaster. |
Key Responsibilities |
- Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
- Provide appropriate and sensitive care to affected individuals, families and coworkers by respecting a person’s culture, religious traditions and faith community.
- Assist in accommodating emotional and spiritual resources through the provision of presence, prayer, guidance, referrals and service through words and acts of God’s love, care and comfort.
- Serve at the Red Cross House bringing Spiritual care to affected families

Qualifications |
- Ordained, licensed or commissioned by a religious authority to function in the specialized ministry of care.
- Theological education or training consistent with your faith tradition
- A minimum of three years experienced in spiritual care after the theological education or training.

- Orientation to American Red Cross
- On job training
- ARC Chaplaincy Training Required (1 day course)
- First Aid/CPR/AED
- Introduction to Disaster
- Mass Care
- Shelter Operations
- Introduction to Family Services
