Staff Aide Generalist

Purpose

The Staff Aide – General serves as a receptionist, performs clerical work, record keeping, and other office assignments in the suburban office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Answer incoming telephone calls
  • Take messages
  • Refers callers to appropriate Red Cross numbers
  • File as needed
  • Data entry as needed
  • Provide backup coverage as needed
  • Be familiar with and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Reports to Volunteer Support Services Supervisor

Qualifications

  • Good telephone skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to attend to details
  • Good people skills
  • Experience in business environment
  • Strong computer proficiency required including knowledge of MS Office
  • Must be a team player and demonstrate the ability to work in a volunteer environment
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Type and/or data entry skills useful

  • Orientation to American Red Cross
