Position Title

Interviewer/Orientation Presenter

Purpose

The Interviewer/Orientation Presenter interviews volunteer applicants to determine potential placement in a position that is satisfactory to both applicant and department.  The Interviewer/Orientation Presenter also orients potential volunteers to Red Cross principles, programs, and policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission
  • Interviews volunteer applicants
  • Orients volunteer applicants
  • Checks references
  • Submits appropriate paperwork on each volunteer applicant
  • Refers potential volunteers to appropriate area for placement.
  • Backup coworkers as needed
  • Be familiar with and implement all organizational policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Reports to Volunteer Recruiter

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Red Cross and its programs or a willingness to learn
  • Interest in people
  • Knowledge of current volunteers needs
  • Interviewing experience or willing to learn
  • Ability to match interviewee’s skills and available positions

Training

  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • On job training
