Bloodmobile Volunteer Scheduler

Purpose

The Bloodmobile Volunteer Scheduler is responsible for scheduling volunteers to serve at bloodmobiles in accordance with the volunteer staffing matrix.

Responsibilities

  • Willingness to support Red Cross Mission.
  • Schedule volunteers to fill each position at bloodmobiles, arrange for possible substitutes, and confirm assignments.
  • Maintain current list of volunteer team members.
  • Notify volunteers of changes to schedule.
  • Reports staffing schedule and assignment changes to Blood Support Volunteer Office.

Relationships

Reports to Volunteer Coordinator/Blood Support Volunteer Chairperson

   

Qualifications

  • Good organizational skills, detail oriented with ability to keep accurate records
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work directly with volunteers and staff
  • Effective phone communication skills.
  • Comprehension of bloodmobile procedures, policies, and staffing guidelines
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all unites of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Training

  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • On job training
  • Completion of required training: blood services volunteer assignments training, volunteer staffing matrix guidelines.
