The American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania is the place where four million strangers give you their blood, where someone you never knew saves your child from drowning, where a friendly voice solves military families' emergencies, where someone you don't recognize puts your family to bed the night you've been burned out of your home, and someone you'll never see again provides you with the tools to clean debris out of your house after a flood.
It is only because of your continued support that we are able to provide relief to the residents of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. As we approach our signature fundraising events - the Red Ball, Red Cross Cup and the Clara Barton Ball - we would like to extend an invitation to you to participate by donating an item or gift certificate for their associated silent auctions. With your support, the American Red Cross of Southeastern Pennsylvania is able to help people in the greater Philadelphia region prevent, prepare for, and respond to life's emergencies. Our work has been extraordinary during the past year. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Red Cross provided help and hope to four million people. Locally we have responded to more than 700 disasters, including large apartment fires and recent heavy flooding.
At the same time, we continue to offer vital health and safety training programs throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania, so that people of all ages will be better prepared to face emergencies. The Red Cross receives no government funding to provide these critical services, but relies entirely upon the generosity of corporate and individual donors.
