Red Cross Heroes

The Red Cross is made up of everyday heroes - a place where people come together to help each other. It is the place where a stranger will give you food and comfort, neighbors shelter you after a fire, total strangers give you their blood, and someone you don’t even know will save your life…

Jasper Marshall, a tenth grader at Edward Bok High School, was leaving his weekly Red Cross Club after-school meeting when he witnessed a car accident. Trained in first aid and CPR as part of his Red Cross Club curriculum, Jasper acted quickly. The driver was unconscious and had no pulse when Jasper found him. Jasper quickly administered CPR, and within minutes the victim had a pulse, which Jasper sustained until paramedics arrived. At his young age, Jasper became not just a honor-roll student and track star, but a hero as well.

You can be a hero and help the Red Cross save lives by stepping out for the Red Cross Walk this April. Your participation in the Red Cross Walk – as a walker, a team captain, a volunteer, or a donor – will allow the Red Cross to be there to provide immediate lifesaving aid and help families take the first steps toward recovery. Join the Red Cross Walk and thousands of everyday heroes who care about humanity.
