Prevent Fires. Save Lives |
eNews from Red Cross Connections Dear Friend of the American Red Cross: So often the Red Cross is called out to home fires – 67,000 times last year, 827 locally. These disasters rarely make the headlines. No one thinks that it will happen to them. This heating season we have a simple message – install smoke alarms and replace the batteries. Every time we respond to an emergency I am reminded of the power of people helping people. After 30 years of working with volunteers, I continue to be overwhelmed by the sheer number With the dedication of our supporters, we are ready for a new year of service to our community - responding to disasters, training our youth, connecting loved ones overseas, and preparing others to save lives. You make the Red Cross a place where people look after each other, even when they do not know one another. This holiday season, and every day, we thank you for continuing to give the gifts of your time, your money and your blood. All the best,
