A look at recent Red Cross events
Peter Gudaitis, CEO of New York Disaster Interfaith Services, Maureen Tomoschuk, SEPA, Tom Foley, CEO of SEPA, Chere Krjrsten-Kifer, Baha’I International Community at the SEPA Chapter’s Interfaith Conference on December 7, 2006 attended by representatives of 64 congregations.
Santa brought smiles to the faces of children from the Philadelphia area who were victims of disaster, such as a tragic house fire or flood, within the past year. On December 21, 2006 the Red Cross hosted its annual Children’s Holiday Party at the Loews Hotel.
Tom Foley, CEO of SEPA and Red Cross board members Valerie Ferguson of the Loews Hotel and Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers are joined by Diego the Explorer and one of the approximately 500 children displaced by fires this year. All in attendance enjoyed the Children’s Holiday Party, an evening full of crafts, mascots, music, gifts, family photos and plenty of food.

Red Cross Club members lead the way as the Red Cross served as the signature event for the 12th Annual Martin Luther King Day of Service fulfilling Dr. King’s vision with a simple message – Be Red Cross Ready.
At MLK Day of Service, Tom Foley, CEO of SEPA was joined by Harris Wofford, Senator Bob Casey, Jr. They were among 539 community leaders, who joined the Red Cross and other volunteers to pack 2,133 emergency preparedness kits on January 15, 2007.
