Disaster Response Supplies Update

Volunteer responders should know where materials are
in the time of need

As the chapter receives more and more supplies, an enviable challenge presents itself – how to keep track of where everything is.

To help, we have included maps of SEPA Chapter's five-county area.  These show by county the full spectrum of material supplies, ranging from Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs), shelter trucks and SUVs to shelter trailers and storage locations.

When looking at the map, the indication of a "D" followed by a number means it is a response vehicle.  D12, D20 and D21 are shelter vehicles, containing supplies for 100, 300 and 300 people, respectively.  A "T" followed by a number means it is a hitch trailer filled with shelter supplies.  T1 through T8 are 8-ft. trailers each containing supplies for a 50-person shelter.  T13 through T16 are 16-ft. trailers each containing 125 cleanup kits.  The bulk trailers are either 48-ft. or 53-ft. long and are carrying shelter supplies for 700 or 1200 people depending on the size.

Each county’s DAT captain or coordinator knows how to access the basic supplies stored in vehicles and/or in storage spaces.  If it becomes necessary for your team to acquire more supplies than what you have on-hand (in other words, if you need supplies from any of the shelter vehicles or trailers), the request must go through the Emergency Communications Center (215-299-4889).  They will then contact the Manager of Disaster Services, who will provide information on accessing the needed supplies.
