Greetings,
March is Red Cross Month, a time to recognize the
local heroes whose efforts on behalf of the Red Cross
inspire all of us to do the work we do.
By heroes, we're not just talking about people like the tenth grader at Edward Bok High
School who happened upon a car accident after
leaving his weekly Red Cross Club after-school
meeting and used his newly-acquired CPR skills to
revive an unconscious driver. We have nearly
1,300 heroes in Emergency Services, the volunteers
who answer the call 24 hours a day.
In February, these heroes responded to 100 disasters, providing emergency
food, clothing and shelter to more than 100 families.
When four fatal fires struck the city in five days, they
also canvassed neighborhoods to distribute life-saving information about fire safety.
Thank you for all that you do for the American Red
Cross and for your neighbors in our region. We look
forward to recognizing your efforts and celebrating
them with you during Red Cross Month.
Sincerely,

Chief Executive Officer

Senior Director Emergency Services
