Greetings,

March is Red Cross Month, and the American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter is celebrating by giving thanks to the thousands of people in this community who personify America's humanitarian spirit and join us to accomplish the work of the Red Cross.

We'll be honoring people like Steve Newman, an Emergency Services volunteer who put his life on the line to limit the terrible toll of a fatal fire. You'll read about his heroism in this month's newsletter.

And Steve is not alone. In February, 92 Red Crossers responded to 88 disasters, providing emergency relief to 379 people. Thanks to all of you. We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments during Red Cross Month.

Sincerely,

Tom Foley

More Than 90 Events Mark the Occasion
Red Cross Month

The American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Chapter will celebrate the 66th Annual Red Cross Month with more than 90 events and outreach activities - 50+ in Emergency Services alone - in the month of March. Red Cross Month is sponsored by Macy's Foundation and the media partner is CBS 3.

Note from Tom Foley

Saluting Volunteers During Red Cross Month

For seven decades, every American president since FDR has declared March "Red Cross Month." Sixty- four annual proclamations on the subject talk about the "global humanitarian mission of the Red Cross," the "spirit of kindness and generosity" that reflects the "character of America," and the "everyday efforts to save lives" with blood, food, shelter, counseling and other assistance.
