Greetings,
September is National Preparedness Month. Are you
ready? Are you Red Cross ready?
The American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania
Chapter is ready, with more than 50 activities planned
for the month. Through the disaster trainings,
preparedness conferences, and other special events
you'll see detailed below, we hope to make you, your
family, your community and the entire region better
prepared to face a disaster.
We look forward to working with you toward that goal in
the coming month.
Best regards,

Chief Executive Officer

Senior Director Emergency Services

Are You Red Cross Ready?
If you could do something to protect your family,
strengthen your community, build your confidence,
and save time, money, and perhaps even someone's
life, would you do it? Now, what if that "something"
took just a few minutes of your time and was
explained in three simple steps?

Reflections on Disaster Response in the Heartland
From July 10-23, 2007, I was deployed as a Disaster
Mental Health Services volunteer to respond to
flooding in Southeast Kansas. Eventually, I was sent
to Coffeyville, Kansas, a blue-collar town of 11,000 on
the border of Kansas and Oklahoma.
