Greetings!

The start of 2007 has proven to be a very busy one. SEPA VOAD and Citizen Corps have trained over 250 individuals from 12 different organizations.

Once again, we were reminded of the importance of VOAD groups when an unexpected Nor'easter, which brought heavy April showers to most of the region causing major flooding, power outages, and damage to many homes and businesses.

While Southeastern Pennsylvania was spared some of the devastation that had been predicted, other parts of the Northeast were hit much harder. Fourteen local Red Cross volunteers have been deployed to New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire, serving in Disaster Assessment, Mass Care, Staff Services, and Health and Mental Health Services.

As always, we thank you for your commitment to helping your neighbors and community before, during and after a large-scale disaster occurs.

Sincerely,

T. Foley
