FAREWELL TO AMERICORPS
The Americorps members’ last day at SEPA is Friday, June 23rd. We as a chapter appreciate the hard work and dedication to the Red Cross the Americorps members consistently displayed. All eight members brought their unique abilities and professionalism to every opportunity presented to them. Thank you, Kisha, Simone, Jessie, Jenny, Katy, Emily, Katri and Brandon; you will be missed! Be sure to extend your well wishes as the members pursue their future endeavors:
Jessie Helwig Jessie enjoyed her stay at the SEPA Chapter and looks forward to pursuing a career in non-profits or emergency management.
Simone Gasperi In August, Simone will be attending medical school
at NYCOM in New York. Katri Walsh After Americorps, Katri plans on getting a full-time job and traveling. Future plans also include law school. Katy Sharp Katy has thoroughly enjoyed her time at SEPA and would like to thank the wonderful staff and volunteers who have made it such a rewarding experience. Once her AmeriCorps contract is over, Katy hopes to continue with the Red Cross or another non-profit organization in her native San Diego. Brandon Ward Brandon has really enjoyed his time here at the SEPA Chapter, especially time spent aiding the military community and families in the five-county area, so much so that he has decided to join the U.S. Coast Guard. He hopes to be stationed in California or Florida. Jenny Mosher Since moving to Philadelphia for the NPRC Americorps program back in August of 2005, Jenny has grown to love this city so much that she has decided to stay here for another year. She greatly enjoyed her internship as a caseworker at Red Cross House, and is currently looking for another case management position with a local non-profit organization. Kisha’s
Gadsden Kisha is planning to go back to school for her master's in education and nutrition/dietetics. She will continue to serve throughout her community as well. Emily Speak Emily
has enjoyed her time at SEPA chapter and looks forward to staying
involved with Red Cross activities through other chapters. Emily
will be returning to California and hopes to take time to travel and
explore different positions in the non-profit field before returning
to school to get her Master's degree.
