Red Cross House Reaches houses its 1000th Family!

Thanks to all of ES: staff and volunteers, chapter and Red Cross House, Branch and City Teams.  Each of you have played a role in Red Cross House's success.

Thanks to your exceptional support, we do not have to ask the troubling question of where would these disaster survivors be without us?  What would have happened to a group of teenagers, living together, raising each other if they could not find their way at Red Cross House?  What would have happened to our elderly neighbors if they had not been able to receive the specialized assistance with bathing and feeding that they did at Red Cross House?  What would have happened to the congregation of a reverend and his wife who provided spiritual and physical support to their community out of their own home before it was destroyed by disaster?

Red Cross House is the place where each story turns a corner.  It is the place where lives are rebuilt, hope is restored, and families are empowered to get back to their everyday lives on their own terms.  Each one of 1000 families has a story that is unique, important, and a powerful example of the resiliency of the human spirit when given the support to recover.  From welcoming our first family in April 2003 to serving the 1,000th family in March 2006, we couldn’t have done it without you.
